The faithful of Munyonyo have been called upon to generously support the Ssabasumba Annual Appeal Fund (SAAFU), an initiative established in 2007 by the late Archbishop of Kampala, His Grace Dr. Cyprian Kizito Lwanga, to sustain the mission and work of the Church within Kampala Archdiocese.
SAAFU relies on the contributions of the faithful to fund key Archdiocesan programs and services that strengthen parish communities. Last year, proceeds were used to renovate the buildings housing the Bakateyamba and priests at Nalukolongo. This year, collections will support the construction of a residence for elderly priests in Kabula Muliro Parish.
While parishes manage many of their own needs, some challenges exceed their capacity and resources. In the spirit of solidarity, SAAFU brings together all parishes to address these larger needs. Contributions from every parish, including Munyonyo, will be officially handed over to the Archbishop on 12th October 2025 during the Archdiocesan Day celebrations.
Every Catholic in Kampala is encouraged to contribute at least 10,000 shillings. Contributions can be made through the parish to emphasize the sense of giving as a community.
Last year, Munyonyo Parish contributed 7 million shillings to SAAFU. This year, the parish aims to raise at least 10 million shillings. The faithful are therefore urged to give generously towards this noble cause.
More than a billion shillings was collected from all Parishes across Kampala archdiocese.
